COLOR SWITCHING BETWEEN BUMPERS IN MULTI COLOR PRINTS

If the prints are multicolor fast, the pad making the next print may remove the previous color. It is more common in motifs in large print areas that were not cleaned with thinner beforehand. This is a problem when printing with a slow-drying ink on multi-stage carriers and rotary table prints. Increasing the time allocated for cliché and printing can be a solution. Causes and solutions:

Causes of Pad

  • If the pad surface is worn and porous, the pad should be replaced.

Causes of Printing Block

  • If the depth of the cliché is high, a new cliché with less depth should be printed.
  • If the ratio and density values of the screen are wrong, a new cliché should be tried with another screen, and if there are small areas and details in the design, high resolution should be applied.

Reasons Caused by Ink

  • If the ink is too thin, printing with ink prepared with less thinner should be tried again.
  • If the ink dries too slowly, a faster drying thinner should be used, airflow should be applied, or the printing speed of the pad should be reduced.

Reasons Based on Material

  • If the material is contaminated with oil, the parts must be cleaned before printing.
  • If the surface is excessively glossy, surfaces that cannot be treated with thinner are generally problematic. A flow of hot/cold air should be applied to the material between colors, or printing can be paused between colors to allow the printed ink to dry.
